Harbour Green Three

IBI Group designed the latest phase of the Harbour Green Complex, completing development of the Coal Harbour community in downtown Vancouver. Fronting seven acres of waterfront park space, the development achieves its architectural excellence in response to this prominent site, as well as an attention to high quality material and design.

The last tower to be developed in the prominent corner of Coal Harbour, the area’s crown jewel that overlooks a waterfront park, the sea, sky and mountains, Harbour Green Three is a high-end, high-rise residential building that forms the final phase of this rich urban fabric. IBI Group designed the highest of the three Harbour Green towers, completing a curve of building heights looking eastwards towards Canada Place.

Sited at the junction between the financial district and Vancouver’s west end, the building itself has two ‘personalities’ between the office towers to the east, and the new residential towers to the west. As such, the western façade of the building is uniform and minimalist as a pure curtain wall, with the west side of the building more complex, rendered as a series of stone-clad boxes hanging off the building, or ‘sky gardens’.

While maximizing both the building height and area requirements, preservation of the public realm adjacent to the water is achieved through a seamless landscape interface. These innovations resulted in delivering a building benefitting this prominent location on the Vancouver waterfront.

The building’s proximity to amenities and public transit promotes sustainable living, allowing residents to enjoy the beauty of the area’s environs while having easy access to life’s luxuries.
